Delaware Insurance CE Guidelines

  • Resident Producers
    • Every 2yrs. – March 1st of even numbered years and ending on the last day of February of even numbered years 
  • Non-resident Producers
    • Not required to meet Delaware CE requirements

Producers must complete 24hrs. of Insurance CE (including 3hrs. of ethics) every 2yr. license term.

  • Producers may complete CE in ANY line of authority.

Students are required to read and complete all study materials PRIOR to attempting the final exam.

  • Final exams are open-book. Students may refer to the course material/notes as often as needed. 
  • Exams do not require monitoring by a disinterested 3rd party “Proctor”.  
  • Final exams must be completed with a passing score of 70% or above to earn course credit.

Initial NFIP Flood Training Requirement:

  • 2hrs. of  training must be completed each 2yr. license term.

Initial Annuity Training Requirement:

  • One-time 4hr. training must be completed prior to selling/soliciting annuity products.

Long-Term Care Training Requirement:

  • All Delaware health producers who solicit LTC policies must complete at least 3hrs. of state-approved Delaware LTC training during the 2-year license term in which the product is solicited. 
  • Repetition Rules
    • Courses may NOT be repeated within a 2yr license term.
  • Carryover Rules
    • Maximum of  5hrs. may be carried over to the next 2yr. license term.
    • Excess hours in LTC, Flood insurance, and Ethics will carry forward as general credit.

Upon successful completion of a course, AHI will provide students with a printable Certificate of Completion which should be retained by the Producer in their personal files for a minimum of 3yrs.

AHI will report course completions directly to your state recording entity, based on individual state requirements. 

Courses are licensed to be presented online or by paper based self-study.

The following are exempt from Delaware Insurance CE requirements:

  • Producers who hold a limited lines producer license and write consumer credit, title, crop/hail, surety, and car rental insurance policies.
  • Producers who is a  resident adjuster licensed solely for surety and/or marine and transportation.
  • Producers who are  nonresident adjusters licensed solely for surety and/or marine and transportation.
  • Producers who are limited lines producers licensed for life insurance or annuity products used solely to fund a pre-need arranged funeral program.
